Reagent for cytoplasm staining, used in combination with Hematoxylin (nuclear staining).
Eosin is a tetrabromofluorescein with mono and di-bromo derivatives.
Eosin staining (cytoplasmic staining) in combination with Hematoxylin staining (nuclear staining) is the most used method in the histopathological routine.
It has different applications in microscopy: for example, Eosin can be found in the composition of May Grünwald and Giemsa solutions.
When Eosin is used with Hematoxylin, its concentration, staining and dehydration times are left to the experience of the operator.
The following procedures should be considered only as a reference.
