Sudan Black staining solution is indicated for lipid staining.

Black Sudan is a lipophilic staining solution that can stain lipids in cells. Due to its solubility in lipids, when they come into contact with the Black Sudan solution, they absorb it and become visible under the microscope. 

Black Sudan is used in cytology and histology for the study of lipids in cells, for example to identify the presence of fats in tissue samples or to study the lipid composition of different cells, or in hematology for the staining of lipid granules in white blood cells, such as neutrophils, eosinophils, and monocytes, useful for the diagnosis of some hematological diseases.
